This is historical romance at its finest. Not my definition of it at least. Without the side characters, Kingdom of Dreams wouldn’t have fared nearly as well. What makes this one even more special is the unique to me time period. And, I get that she ran away from him. Westmorelwnd Aunt Elinor was hilarious and I loved how she was with Arik.

I get that she didn’t like her kidnapper, Royce. You should really stop trying to read Outlander -like books.

Who doesn’t love an enemies to lover story especially with someone as yummy as Royce. The way I wrote my review for Whitney, My Loveis going to be the same way I write my review for this book. McNaught was one of the first romance authors to receive a multimillion-dollar contract and have her novels published in hardcover, better positioning them for review by major publications.
That’s fine since she exceeds at writing tortured conflicted multi-layered characters I can overlook it but I’d like a little more variety is all I’m saying.
