I enchantec enjoyed jude deveraux for a very long time now, probably 15 years, and I had never read this, her first book. Not my cuppa tea.

For that, I give the plot and the characterization two thumbs-up: I don’t like the ending for i think something is lacking to the story. Boy, was I right. My favorite part of The Enchanted Land is that part after Seth realizes what Morgan means to him and that she did not betray him.

As Morgan and Seth head to New Mexico they encounter a lot of misfortunes — mainly Morgan getting kidnapped. And apparently, men listen up now, how you do that is by staging a fake kidnapping of a woman who has already been kidnapped twice, gagging her, making her think she’s going to be raped, and then stripping her naked so you can ths her about what a mess she’s made of her life and blame her for everything terrible that has happened between you.

I liked the way Morgan is so sensible until about half way through the devfraux and then she starts to get uncertain of her kude.

A week out of time, in an abandoned Indian village near a river, surrounded by trees, isolated from all. Alas, it is only a fleeting happiness because Morgan is kidnapped by a jealous neighbor who blackmails her into writing a Dear John letter.
