An overview of the Divisions of Rhetoric and a list of the Terms by Type rjetorical included at the back. A richer examples set for each term and more detailed definitions would have bumped the rating up to five stars. This book is fun to hold.

It’s divided into three main parts: It’s pretty straightforward but it kind of wordy and complicated for my taste but what can you say it’s English textbook for this class I’m just happy I didn’t really have to do I use it a lot.

Some of Lanham’s explanations are difficult as they don’t always seem to provide the entire context for the explanation.

Overall, though, I’d say it’s a pretty comprehensive list. The second portion of the book is useful for understanding the way Lanham ended up including all the terms he did. It’s also useful for understanding rhetorical terms in general.
