True, the crimson color resulted from lavish applications of lip rouge, but if one were lucky enough not to have a thin hard mouth, one might as well draw elloisa to it.

After all, Elijah had been her husband for years. Waaay too much droning on about fashion.

Presumably husbands were uninterested in seeing their wives dress; their secrets were all known and the thrill of the unfamiliar was lost.

My husband is a surgeon so I felt a lot of empathy for Jemma as she struggled with how hard to push Elijah to make time for her and to rest, even though his work IS important to other people’s lives.


One of her three French maids, Mariette, was a genius in that area and had spent two hours in the afternoon constructing a style fit for a royal occasion. She had blue eyes, hair of a deep golden color, a very elegant nose Jemma particularly liked her nose and crimson lips.

In her professorial guise, she’s written a New York Times op-ed defending romance, as well as articles published everywhere from women’s magazines such as More to writers’ journals such as the Romance Writers’ Report.

In this series View all Book 6. At the beginning it was tense and sad and then BOOM! This Duchess of Mine is a wonderfully romantic, engaging tale that was a pure joy to read.

So this book is a lot of figuring out what that means and some spoiler-y stuff. Jemma had been betrayed since she found her husband with his mistress, and then she fled to Paris for nine years leaving her husband.

I think it strikes on a personal level for me. The Taming of the Duke. It was mortifying to be a wife. I just hope she jammes excessive superlatives out for the next book but it’s too late for her to tell the “Jeli” story she should have told here.
