I started out digging this book, but everything about it was too predictable.

I really enjoyed River God, but this book, with the exception of a few exciting sections, was slow-moving. Dit verhaal speelt een paar duizend jaar later, in het heden van pakweg 25 jaar geleden. What is there not to like?
As I read through the many reviews from other people, though, I almost wonder if I’m missing something. Although maybe my view is a little biased I really cannot see why so many people enjoy this book.
The book itself was only slightly less enjoyable than the first.

In The Seventh Scroll he has added an extra mixture of intrigue and suspense that takes his writing to the highest level.
Mostly, I enjoyed The Seventh Scroll. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. The descriptions of ancient Egyptian myt I picked this up thinking it would be a mix of Clive Cussler and other adventure history type books.

And then along came a sort of sequel that I was not expecting: Other books in the series. Want to Read Currently Reading Read. This is disgusting, but it’s intended to be. I didn’t like how the writer inserted himself in the story in which he was playing a secondary character ‘Wilbur Smith’. Some of the violence is extensive and gruesome and my oldest daughter, who’s read more of Smith’s work than I have, reports that this is characteristicbut it was nothing I couldn’t handle. Smith has written a beautiful, adventerous story about love, greed, death and courage. First i though that the writer Includes additionalyet unnecessary details and in more than one occasion i lost interest in finishing the story but i kept going on regardless of how twisted and bored i wasfew pages after: This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers.
