Dostowvsky was the second son of a former army doctor. He resigned from the army two years later. You know what it all comes from – from my having a good heart. He gets to know and falls in love with a young woman, but the love remains unrequited as the woman misses her lover with whom sh White Nights and Other Stories, Fyodor Dostoyevsky “White Nights” Russian: That was because that star had given me an idea: I’m sure it is better in Russian.

He is an amazing story teller. Thanks for telling us about the problem. All the stories have strong conversations between the characters, lots of back and forth so this might turn some readers off; I enjoyed the communication be Since I read the Brothers Karamazov I have been a Dostoyevsky fan and am happy to add this to my reads A must read esp for the hilarious short story, The Crocodile; about a man who is swallowed by a croc!

In his wife and brother died and he was burdened with debts. I generally love Dostoyevsky but for some reason this was a real drag to get through To view it, click here. A gentle creature shows the development of couple – their first meetings, proposal, wedding and later life. His wrinkled face was rather pale, his voice was trembling.
A Christmas Tree and a Weddingpp. The beginnings of each story started off kind of dull and wordy but as I got to the middle of each tale it started to make sense and pulled itself together by the end. Read on for a slice from each story. He was evidently in some confusion of mind, his words did not flow easily from his tongue, and it could be seen that it cost him a terrible effort to present a very humble request to a personage possibly his inferior in rank or condition, in spite gecrler the urgent necessity of addressing his request to somebody.
